Restoration Rome was full of Cheerful Givers this Christmas!
1.4.2019
This Christmas, hundreds of children woke up on Christmas morning to find a special gift awaiting them. Many of these children were spending Christmas away from their birth families in a foster or group home. Others had parents who simply couldn’t stretch their dollars beyond the essentials.
Thanks to the great generosity of many, these children experienced one of the joys of Christmas and reminders of our greatest gift in Christ. Many individuals signed up for specific children through the Division of Family and Children’s Services Cheerful Givers site and took the time to shop for the special wishes on a child’s list. Others
like Sara Malone, a member of the Georgia Council of Deliberation, shared children’s Christmas needs with her organization. In her honor, the group donated brand new basketballs and dolls and games, filling our Christmas tree to the brim! Still others like Rome Civic Ballet collected gently used toys that could be used onsite at Restoration Rome to make our childcare and family visitation areas welcoming to children.
Many thanks to ALL who made it possible for OUR children to have a Christmas full of hope, to experience the thrill of unwrapping a package they wished for, and most importantly, to know that someone cared for them. That’s a gift that lasts a lifetime, so thank you for sharing your heart with precious children in need this Christmas!
