Restoration Rome and the Restoration Rome Center for Foster Care Services are local ministry initiatives of Global Impact International, Inc.
Bringing public, private, and faith-based partners together to strengthen and restore our children and families in Christ's Name
A community partnering to help every child reach their God-given potential.
In 2003, the leadership of Three Rivers Community Church joined with local business and community leaders for the purpose of mobilizing disciples to become the manifestation of the Kingdom of God through their work in every domain of society. Their desire was to bring the love of God into the heart of the community, and to promote reconciliation, transform communities, and to serve the underserved. The resulting collaborative of resource providers resulted in the founding of Global Impact in 2007.
Today, Global Impact sponsors service professionals in medicine, education, and business living as permanent residents in 5 different countries in Central Asia, the Middle East, West Africa, and South America. In addition, others are mobilized during the year to provide specialized services and trainings in multiple countries throughout the world. Global Impact leaders have also trained more than 500 other faith-based leaders from multiple denominations and faiths how to employ similar engagement strategies in their communities.
Locally, Global Impact has focused its efforts on work in the areas of Child Advocacy and Family Restoration, specifically, the growing Foster Care crisis in Floyd County and the State of Georgia. Global Impact started by providing services to teen mothers and the parents of special needs children through a Young Mom’s Support Group and Buddy Break Program. In 2015, Global Impact, in partnership with Three Rivers Church, began operating the James House in Armuchee, GA. The James House is a six-bed foster home for placement of Floyd County children entering state care. Then, in 2016, the City of Rome awarded Global Impact the option for a Lease to Own purchase of the former Southeast Elementary School building to be repurposed as a local center for foster care services. While the buildout of the center is in progress, the building is currently being used to provide community and foster care services, and houses on-site offices for multiple public and private children’s service agencies.
